Re:  Resiliency Resources Available

Dear Mayor:

Recognizing that extreme weather and climate change have created a new normal for local governments across the nation, a group of concerned officials has joined together in a national partnership called “Resilient Communities for America (RC4A).”  The partnership is based on the conviction that, “A strong and prosperous America starts with local leadership.”  And it hopes to provide local officials with information and resources that can be used to advance the goals of climate preparedness, energy security, infrastructure renewal and economic prosperity.

RC4A asks local officials to commit to:
* Urge state and federal leaders to support local resilience initiatives and to take meaningful
steps to build resilience and security throughout the nation;
* Commit to building community resilience through your own local actions; and
* Commit to sharing solutions, success stories, and annual progress with other local governments
through the Resilient Communities for America online platform.

If you are interested in this issue, you can visit the website at Free resources are available there, including a “Climate Extremes Communication Guidebook,” climate adaptation resources and solar resources. In the meantime, we continue to recommend you contact the New Jersey Resiliency Network to take advantage of existing and New Jersey based resources for building resiliency in your municipality

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
