Re: Seeking Comments on Important BPU Broadband Order

Dear Mayor:

In order to ensure that municipalities are adequately represented before the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), the League would again like to bring to your attention  the board’s January 19th order. This order requests comments on a proposed stipulation agreement regarding the outlay of broadband service in New Jersey’s rural communities.

If your municipality is a rural community which is lacking broadband service, we recommend that you read this order. The League further recommends that, if this order may negatively influence the availability of broadband in your rural community, you should submit comments to the BPU. These comments are due by March 24th. Please be sure to send a copy of your comments to the League’s Staff Attorney Ed Purcell at epurcell@njslom.org.

The order can be found here:

The League’s previous letter on this topic can be found here:

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
