Re: League Foundation Program
The Economic Opportunity Act of 2013
On February 26 Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno will keynote the League Foundation program on New Jersey’s Economic Opportunity Act of 2013. The Act merges the State’s economic development incentive programs with the goal of enhancing business retention, attraction and job creation and strengthening New Jersey’s competitive edge in the global economy. This event will bring together business and local officials to create an understanding of the benefits of the Act, particularly the newly available tax and financial incentives, the legal requirements and how to go about implementing the new law at the local level.
In addition to the Lieutenant Governor, the half-day program will feature two additional panels. The first will feature speakers from the Economic Development Authority (EDA), the New Jersey Business Action Center and Choose NJ and provide perspective on new economic development opportunities as well as guidance to municipal officials how best to implement an economic development strategy.
The second panel will feature local elected officials, industry and labor representatives who will explore the new economic development opportunities and their contribution to a local economic development strategy.
