Re: Important Conference Sessions Perennial Conference Favorites

Dear Mayor:

When you get to the Atlantic City Convention Center for the 98th Conference, you will have plenty of choices to make. This letter will not make those choices any easier. We have previously sent a series of letters, high-lighting seminar sessions on different topics. The sessions mentioned in this letter, however, span a number of topics. These, though, are some of the most popular meetings, scheduled every year, but never the same.

Let’s start on Tuesday, with the League’s Consulting Period, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Too big for any of the Convention Centers regular meeting rooms, this one-of-a-kind opportunity takes up most of the space in Exhibit Hall A. There you will find experts from most of the major State and Federal agencies with which New Jersey municipalities need to interact, on a regular basis. They will be joined by other municipal problem solving professionals to personally answer your questions. Local officials are welcome to have a seat at any of the over 60 tables set up in Hall A, where they can have face-to-face discussions on, for example: any one of a host of environmental protection concerns; the League’s Internet and Web Consulting Service; site remediation issues; military leave for public employees; senior, youth and disabled citizens programs; the League’s Interlocal Advisory Service; disaster preparedness and recovery … The list goes on and on. Conference participants can spend all, or any part, of the full two hours and visit as many of our Consulting tables, as time allows.
