RE: New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum Launch Invitation
With Jersey pride, Steve Edwards, President of the New Jersey Hall of Fame Foundation, Bart Oates, Commission Chairman and John Keegan, Chairman-Emeritus of the New Jersey Hall of Fame Foundation, have asked me extend to all Mayors their invitation to the ceremonial launch of the nation’s first ever Mobile Museum.
The public unveiling and ceremony will be held on Monday, June 24, 11:00am, at the Flag Plaza in Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The ceremony will honor Hall of Fame inductees and sponsors and feature NJ Hall of Fame inductee, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
Designed by famed architect and NJHOF inductee Michael Graves, and renowned museum exhibition designer, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the Mobile Museum offers a dramatic multimedia exhibition created around the theme – “Make a Difference.” Through images, artifacts, film, and interactive elements, visitors can explore the ways that Hall of Fame inductees have changed the state and the world: as innovators, as leaders, and as voices for the voiceless—often against overwhelming odds. And they’ll be invited to consider how they, too, can make a difference in our world. Displays will rotate on an ongoing basis to highlight new Hall of Fame inductees.
The New Jersey Hall of Fame is a bi-partisan initiative established in 2005 by unanimous vote of the legislature, and was created to honor those New Jerseyans who have made invaluable contributions to society, and to provide young people positive role models in all fields of endeavor.
All citizens can feel a special source of Jersey Pride for the New Jersey Hall of Fame and its new Mobile Museum, as we work together to further our mission of inspiring and educating young people to become better citizens. We urge you to be a part of this distinctly New Jersey experience, and ask you to help us to honor our favorite sons and daughters who have distinguished our great State through their lives and accomplishments.
We thank the Hall of Fame and its Officers for recognizing the role that New Jersey Mayors can play in advancing appreciation for the Hall and for this unique opportunity. For more information on this event, contact Norris Clark at (609) 425- 1325.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
