Re: Property Tax Conference Reminder All Are Invited
We want to remind you that the League has joined with the Kislak Real Estate Institute and the Monmouth University Polling Institute to host a free Property Tax Conference. The event is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 11 at the Monmouth University campus, just off the Parkway in West Long Branch.
Please share this notice with your governing body members and professional staff. The agenda has been posted on our website on our Seminars and Events Page (http://www.njslom.org/seminars.html) and can be accessed at http://www.njslom.org/seminar-documents/2013-0611-ProspectsPoliticsPotentialImpactPropertyTaxReform.pdf
The League’s Second Vice President and Eatontown Mayor Gerry Tarantolo, who chairs our Property Tax Reform Task Force, will describe the group’s work to date and chart a possible course to meaningful and lasting reform.
Speakers will include Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald and Assembly Republican Budget Officer Declan O’Scanlon.
Local leaders will explore the impact of New Jersey’s over-reliance on property taxes on municipalities, residents and businesses. Legislative leaders will discuss the possibilities for reform. And business leaders will explain how property tax reform can invigorate New Jersey’s real estate markets, in particular, and energize the State’s economy.
