Re: NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH
As NJ League of Municipalities liaison to NJ Sharing Network, I am pleased to announce our support of NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH this April, which offers the tremendous opportunity to make a difference in saving lives by encouraging your residents to register as organ and tissue donors at local Motor Vehicles Agencies or online at www.NJSharingNetwork.org.
Your support throughout the month is greatly appreciated. And I challenge you to encourage your communities to do more. One easy way to get communities involved is to participate in National Donate Life Blue and Green Day on Friday, April 19th. Encourage residents to wear blue and green that day to show support for organ and tissue donation awareness and post photographs on NJ Sharing Network’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/njsharingnetwork.com). You can also encourage residents to visit NJ Sharing Network’s website and check out the Donate Life Month section on our home page to find additional ways to promote organ donation awareness.
Supporting National Donate Life Blue and Green Day is a great way to rally your community. That is why I, on behalf of Joseph Roth, President and CEO of NJ Sharing Network, personally invite all mayors to join me to participate in the first-ever National Donate Life Blue and Green Day “Mayors Take The Cake” decorating contest at the Plainfield Dairy Queen on April 19. This fun-filled event challenges mayors to find the most creative ways to promote organ donation awareness using an ice cream cake canvas. The public will go online to vote for their favorite cake and the winner will be announced at NJ Sharing Network’s 3rd Annual 5K Walk/Race on June 9 in New Providence. Please join me at the 5K to congratulate the winning mayor and salute the thousands that will walk and run that day to help support the life-saving work of NJ Sharing Network.
If organ donation has touched your life, or your communities, please get involved. Municipalities across the state have an opportunity to join us throughout the month to help raise awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Please encourage your residents to support Donate Life Month to help us honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait, and remember the lives lost while waiting…for the gift of life.
Additional information on all of these events is available at www.NJSharingNetwork.org, or you can contact Lernard Freeman at email@example.com for more information. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.
