Re: Mayors Cookbook Promotional Material
Figuratively speaking, citizens expect local officials to be able to help them with every local problem, from soup to nuts. The League offers a full menu of resources for that. But now, for the first time ever, the League, in cooperation with the Mayors Wellness Campaign, offers a resource that can literally help you plan a full menu of meals, from appetizers to dessert. Take a look at a few of the dishes featured in the New Jersey Mayors Healthy Cookbook and you will agree that this resource is well worth a ten dollar investment.
Personally, I cannot wait to try the Banana-Fruit Smoothie contributed by Closter. The Chickpea Salad with Poached Tuna contributed by Nutley could be served with the Lemony White Bean Bruschetta from Bay Head. And how about that Baked Pasta e Fagioli? That’s a work of art from Mount Arlington.
Cedar-Plank Salmon has long been considered a New Jersey culinary classic. The New Jersey Mayors Health Cookbook includes no fewer than three variations on that theme.
And turkey? We have the Firehouse Turkey Chili from Red Bank, the Grilled Lemon Garlic Turkey Broil with Grilled Onions and Asparagus from Eastampton, the L&N Healthy Turkey Vegetable Chili courtesy of Morristown, Sweet and Sour Turkey Meatballs via our League Staff, and the Turkey Eggplant Casserole ala Washington Township. But wait. There’s more. We have included a recipe for mouth-wateringly wonderful Turkey Meatballs from Camden, and the Whole Wheat Pasta with Turkey Sausage was contributed by Pennington.
Whatever your taste and preference, I am sure that you will find more than a few dishes to flavor and savor yourself. And all the recipes are sure to keep you healthy and your cardiologist happy.
