Re:       Governor Signs Executive Order for Seasonal Liquor Licenses

Dear Mayor:

Late yesterday, Governor Christie signed Executive Order 126 changing the opening date for seasonal liquor license from May 1 to March 1 for calendar year 2013.  The Governor signed the Executive Order because all seasonal liquor licensees were adversely affected by Hurricane Sandy as they were unable to stay open until November 14. 

The Executive Order prohibits any municipality from enacting or enforcing any order, rule, regulation, ordinance or resolution that will or may conflict with the Executive Order.  The Executive Order only applies for calendar year 2013 and took effect immediately.
