Hurricane Damage Assessments. Environmental Protection and Public Education Updates

This is the second in a series of committee meetings focusing on the needs of New Jersey residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The committee will receive testimony from invited guests, including local, county and executive branch officials. The committee will receive damage assessments from local and county officials, and will hear updates from the Commissioners of Environmental Protection and Education on post-storm issues related to the management of debris removal, wastewater and drinking water, and schools.
Issues related to beach replenishment and reconstruction will be considered at a future meeting that will include the Commissioner of Environmental Protection as well as planning experts and coastal engineers.
