Re: DARE NJ Curricula
In the fall of 2011, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators, representing school superintendents across the state, expressed their concern regarding the implementation of a proposed curriculum by DARE America being used in schools without what they felt was appropriate research demonstrating its effectiveness. In response to their concerns, and after extensive consideration, DARE NJ began offering different curriculum that satisfied the superintendents’ concerns.
DARE NJ is working diligently to demonstrate to DARE America that they are taking all steps to protect the DARE delivery system in New Jersey and that it justifies the local expense of using a DARE NJ Officer.
DARE NJ is committed to demonstrating publicly the need for Officers in the classroom to give our students the best possible tools to learn the effects of drug abuse and how to combat its dangers.
DARE NJ sincerely hopes they can reach an amicable resolution with DARE America and continues to work towards that.
