Re:  Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) Credit Renewal Announcement

Dear Mayor:

All of the certification programs administered by the Division (CMFO, CCFO, CTC, CPWM, RMC, QPA) have an automatic, statutory six month grace period in them, so for anyone that is due to renew their certification as of 12/31/12, those certifications will still be considered valid through 6/30/13. Any hours that a licensee obtains during the grace period can be utilized toward their current renewal. Any extra hours during the grace period that they obtain, above what they need for the current renewal, can be utilized toward their next renewal cycle.

For those licensees currently in their renewal cycle , we will be issuing further guidance in the near future as to whether grace periods can be extended beyond the six months allowed by law, and whether statutory late fees can be waived due to the circumstances of the storm.

For more information contact:

Dan Kaminski, Manager Certification Unit, DLGS
at 609-292-9757 or Daniel.Kaminski@dca.state.nj.us

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
