Re: Upcoming FREE Webinar and Workshop that Can Help You Learn How to Benchmark Buildings and Save Money and Energy
We are writing to let you know about an upcoming Sustainable Jersey webinar and workshop that municipal staff, energy professionals, facilities' managers, and business managers may want to attend. It is a free webinar which will provide an overview of "benchmarking" software which can help to identify where your buildings are using energy, and provide a first step in reducing energy use and costs! We are following up the webinar with a hands'-on workshop where you can get one on one help with entering your data into ESPM or other benchmarking software.
SAVING MONEY AND ENERGY THROUGH ENERGY BENCHMARKING AND MANAGEMENT

CLICK HERE to SIGN UP FOR THE IN-PERSON HANDS ON WORKSHOP ON MAY 9 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at The College of NJ – Business Building, Room 225:
If your municipality or school is interested in saving energy or money, benchmarking is the first step in managing your energy costs and use.
Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) calculates buildings’ greenhouse gas emissions and can track avoided emissions from any Renewable Energy Certificates. When municipalities or schools document reductions in energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and energy costs, they can identify under-performing buildings to target for energy efficiency improvements and establish baselines for setting and measuring progress. Energy Benchmarking and Energy Tracking Software should be the basis for intelligent management of your biggest source of energy expenditures and greenhouse gas emissions.
The webinar will provide an overview of the Sustainable Jersey action, “Energy Benchmarking and Management,” (formerly known as Energy Star Portfolio Manager) and will show you what you’ll need to successfully track your energy use. Other benchmarking options and energy tracking software that are compatible with ESPM will be discussed. If you want more “hands-on” help, sign up for the follow up workshop (see link above)!
