RE: PLEASE SUPPORT OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM
I know that you receive a lot of requests from the League, asking you to take action on important matters. As your League President, I don’t think you’ll get any more important than this.
As bad as the unemployment rate is in New Jersey, it is far worse for returning vets and military spouses. It’s just not right to ask our brave young men and women to put their lives on the line protecting our interests in hot spots around the globe, without responding with our best efforts to match them with good jobs in the civilian sector, when they return.
That’s why I’m asking all municipalities to support the New Jersey Employer Support Guard and Reserve (ESGR) with their Employment Initiative Program (EIP). You can start by adapting and adopting the attached Resolution of Support.

When you do so, you’re letting your community know about the problems that our vets face in landing good jobs. And you’re letting our vets know that you’re proud of them, that you value their service, that you care about them and their families and that you intend to stand on their side.
I intend to make support for our men and women in uniform a priority of my year as your President. Please send us a copy of your adopted Resolution.
Very truly yours,
Hon. Arthur R. Ondish, President William G. Dressel, Jr.
