League Program Educates Attendees on Ethics, Codes of Conduct, Civility in Government, Proposed Amendments to the Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act(OPRA)

On September 28, 2012 in Burlington and October 12, 2012 in Englewood the League of Municipalities held its annual Ethics seminars. William Kearns Jr, League General Counsel began the program discussing the codes of conduct for state and municipal officials. He also discussed civility in government and the pay-to play rules.
Lori Buckelew, Senior Legislative Analyst for the League of Municipalities rounded out the program by explaining the proposed amendments to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and their possible impact on municipal operations.
