Re: Do not use unauthorized hotel reservation services
Municipal Clerks and other Officials making Conference housing arrangements,
It has come to our attention that there are unauthorized firms soliciting housing and hotel reservations from people attending the 97th Annual League Conference. We assure you that the only firm authorized to handle the League conference housing reservations is AC Central Reservations who is based right here in New Jersey. This information is on the top of the official conference housing form mailed to all municipal clerks June 1, and available at our web site http://www.njslom.org/97thconf/index.html Please share this advice with anyone who may be arranging housing.
Using unauthorized reservation services creates real problems not only for you or you officials attending the conference but the conference as a whole. You can not be assured your payment information is secure and your room reservation may not actually be made. Using unauthorized services means your room will not be part of the official conference housing block so you won’t get emergency housing information (which happened in 2011) nor will we be able to provide adequate shuttle bus services to your hotel.
As always, the League is available to answer your questions on any aspect of the annual conference and we strive to make your participation both enjoyable, cost effective and highly productive.
If you have questions about this please contact Assistant Executive Director Michael Darcy at 609-695-3481 extension 116 or MDarcy@njslom.org
Sincerely,
William G. Dressel Jr.
