Re:      OPRA & OPMA Bills Released without Recommendation

Dear Mayor:

Earlier today a revised agenda for today’s Senate Budget and Appropriation Committee included S-1451, which amends the Open Public Meetings Act and S-1452, which amends the Open Public Records Act.  Senator Weinberg, sponsor of both bills, detailed the amendments to the bills and noted that she wanted an amended bill to meet with the stakeholders.  Senator Weinberg committed that the bills would not be posted for a full vote of the Senate until the fall.

The Assembly companion remains assigned to the Assembly State Government Committee.

The bills were amended and released without recommendation.  We are anxious to review the amendments, which are not available at this time, and meet with Senator Weinberg.
