Re: Survey created by NJ Child Fatality and Near Fatality Review Board
Dear Mayor:
The New Jersey Child Fatality and Near Fatality Review Board requests your assistance in garnering the cooperation of all municipalities in the State in completing an online survey.
The Board believes that a large percentage of child drowning fatalities in the past 12 years may have been preventable. The most prevalent risk factor noted by the Board is the lack of fencing around the perimeter of pools.
The Board has created a survey to determine the number of municipalities that have ordinances requiring fencing around pools. Your participation is important, as the Board cannot get a clear understanding of this issue without a high response rate from municipalities.
