RE: New Jersey’s 2011 Holiday Blood Drive Campaign.
Encourage Your Employees and Residents to Give the Gift of Life
As we enter the holiday season of giving, the emergency medical need for blood increases. With that in mind, the Division of Family Health Services in New Jersey’s Department of Health and Senior Services has asked us to ask you to help publicize the need and to promote blood donations. You might want to join in this year’s holiday campaign and host a workplace or community blood drive before the end of this year.
The facts speak for themselves. One pint of donated blood from a single donor can save up to three lives. Nine out of ten people will need donated blood at some point in their lives. Sixty percent of New Jerseyans are eligible to donate blood, yet only 3.6% will donate on a regular basis.
We encourage you to visit www.njsave3lives.com for more information. In addition to the homepage promoting the holiday campaign, there is a page of downloadable materials including promotional cards AND icons that you can use to brighten your holiday blood drive posters, fliers, and web announcements.
