We are writing to let you know about important upcoming Sustainable Jersey workshops, webinars and events.  Please see the information below.

SCHOOL BASED ENERGY CONSERVATION WORKSHOP

Tuesday, November 1st from 3:30-6:00 p.m.

Are your schools taking advantage of the millions of dollars available through the NJ Board of Public Utilities’ Clean Energy Program?

Does your school have lighting fixtures that were installed prior to 1980 that may pose a health hazard due to PCBs in lighting ballasts? 

Please come to this FREE workshop to learn about energy efficiency upgrades and incentives available through the NJ Board of Public Utilities’ Clean Energy Program. 

Hear from Paul Simon, Regional Climate Change Program Advisor for the US EPA Region 2 about the issues posed by PCBs in fluorescent light fixtures, and strategies to replace the fixtures. 

Learn about ways to promote energy conservation in schools through education and behavioral change.  A variety of curricular resources and programs will be discussed.

The Citizens Campaign and Sustainable Jersey are teaming up to bring you a toolkit packed with the essentials to successfully move your community towards going "green", saving money and improving its quality of life for the long term.
The first half will be an educational component on proposing sustainable initiatives, serving on Green Teams & other environmentally-focused bodies, and reporting about sustainable initiatives in your town.  The second half will be a Q&A coaching session with environmental policy experts.
Using the Sustainability Toolkit: Building Healthier Communities:

  • Learn how to get results on sustainable local initiatives
  • Find out opportunities to be part of decisions being made on sustainable issues in your community
  • Interactive discussion with sustainability experts
