We would like to advise you of several upcoming Sustainable Jersey workshops which you might find of interest, and ask for your assistance in publicizing them.
All of the workshops are FREE, but registration is REQUIRED.
GREEN FLEETS TRANSPORTATION WORKSHOPS
Co-sponsored by Sustainable Jersey™, The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, The New Jersey Clean Cities Coalition and The Atlantic County Utilities Authority
These free workshops are focused on:
- Identifying available transportation technologies and fuel efficiency methods
- Idle reduction and management strategies
- Transportation Case Studies of Green Teams
- Each will include a tour of the host’s facilities

FARMERS’ MARKET WORKSHOP
Take a tour of your local Farmers’ Market .Speakers will discuss how the market was set up, and there will be an opportunity to speak with vendors. Attendees will also learn about how the market is funded and managed, and about existing and future municipal support for Farmers’ Markets. Bill Walker from the NJ Dept. Of Agriculture will talk about using WIC, SNAP, EBT at Farmers’ Markets and there will be time for Questions and Answers

Learn about ways to promote energy conservation and save money on energy costs in schools through education and behavioral change. A variety of curricular resources and programs will be discussed.
Hear from the Regional Administrator of US EPA Region 2 about the issues posed by PCBs in fluorescent light fixtures, and strategies to replace the fixtures. Find out about energy efficiency upgrades and incentives available through the NJ Board of Public Utilities’ Clean Energy Program.
3:30 p.m. Keynote Speaker: Judith Enck, Regional Administrator, US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2 will speak about “Healthy School Environments.”
4:00 p.m. Sustainability and Energy Programs for Schools -- What Schools Can Do To Promote Energy Conservation (Focus is on curriculum)
5:00 p.m. Energy Efficiency Upgrades for Schools (Focus is on School Building itself )
