Re:    Federal Disaster Aid has been approved for Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Severe Storms and Flooding of August 13-15, 2011

Dear Mayor:

Today, Governor Christie announced that Federal Disaster Aid, public assistance, has been approved for Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties as a result of the severe storms and flooding during the period of August 13-15, 2011.

Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms and flooding in the counties of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem.  In addition, federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

If you are in the affected county, please contact your local OEM Director to coordinate your municipality’s public assistance application.  If you have any questions or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact Lori Buckelew at lbuckelew@njslom.com or 609-695-3481 x112.

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
