Re: Governor Christie Orders Flags Lowered to Half-Staff September 9 through September 11
Dear Mayor:
Yesterday Governor Christie issued Executive Order 74, ordering all State and public buildings to fly flags at half-staff from Friday, September 9 through September 11 in recognition and mourning of all of those lost in the 2001 attacks, in particular the nearly 700 New Jersey residents killed in the attacks.
In the Executive Order, Governor Christie noted that “these horrific attacks not only caused a tremendous loss of life, but also inflicted immense pain and anguish on those who survived the events of that day, which include hundreds of New Jersey families whose lives have been dramatically affected by the loss of a parent, spouse, child or other loved one”.
