RE: NEW LEAGUE FEATURE WEBSITE
RESOURCE PIE CHART TEMPLATE SHOWS YOUR CONSTITUENTS WHERE THEIR PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS GO
Despite the fact that, year after year, school districts receive vastly more funding from the State, they continue to levy the lion’s share of property taxes. Yet municipal officials are routinely singled out for criticism concerning New Jersey’s high property taxes.
Local officials deserve a means to help communicate the relative impact of the school district, county and municipal tax levies on their constituents. For your convenience, the League asked South Brunswick CFO and Deputy Manager Joe Monzo to develop a tool that all municipalities could use to depict, for your taxpayers and the media, the division of property taxes among your schools, your county and your municipal budget.
We have posted the Excel template on our website. The link address is http://www.njslom.org/2010-property-taxes.xls. Just click on the link and follow the simple instructions. We hope you find this tool useful.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
