Re: Governor's Educational Transition Task Force
Linda A. DuBois, Mayor of Pittsgrove Township, was recently appointed to the Governor's Educational Transition Task Force. She is asking her fellow local government officials to help her by providing written or verbal input.
The Task Force is holding a South Jersey Public hearing on July 11 at the Pittsgrove Township Municipal Building, 989 Centerton Road in Pittsgrove, and a North Jersey hearing, held on July 12, at Seton Hall. Both are 3:30 - 5:30pm.
Here is the official information they are looking for:
- The Education Transformation Task Force was established by the Governor to address two issues: to review all statutes and regulations that affect public education and to recommend a new accountability system that grants more autonomy to schools while maintaining strict accountability for student performance, safety and fiscal responsibility.
- As part of their analysis they are seeking written input from organizations identifying the requirements that have been placed on school districts by State Board of Education or Commissioner, specifically regulations that are not strictly required by the express terms of any statute or federal mandate and that substantially impede creativity and innovation in achieving educational, operational, or fiscal effectiveness.
- The input should be provided by July 11th via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, (email@example.com) or postal mail (Education Transformation Task Force, c/o Department of Education, 100 Riverview Plaza, PO Box 500, Trenton, NJ 08625). "
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
