Re: DEP’s Proposed Public Access Rules, Final Hearing
As you know, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has proposed new public access rules that will have significant impacts for your municipality. The rules involve a number of issues important to shore towns. The DEP published the rules in the April 4, 2011 issue of the New Jersey Register and a courtesy copy is available on the DEP's website.
The final public hearing on the rule proposal will be held on Thursday, June 2nd at 7:00pm at the Long Beach Township Municipal Building, 6805 Long Beach Blvd. Brant Beach, NJ 08009.
Written comments may be submitted through June 3 to: N.J. Department of Environmental Protection, Gary Brower, Esq., ATTN: DEP Docket No. 05-11-03, Office of Legal Affairs, 401 East State Street, 4th Floor, PO Box 402, Trenton, New Jersey 08625.

We urge you to discuss the possible impact of these rules with your municipal attorney and environmental advisors.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
