Re: Master Plan Change Approved by Governor
On Thursday, Governor Christie signed into law as PL 2011, c. 65, A-3272/S-2433, which modifies the Municipal Land Use Law to allow municipalities to undertake a master plan reexamination every ten years instead of the every six years.
The League supported this change. We note that a municipality could, at its discretion, complete its master plan reexamination at an earlier interval.
The legislation was sponsored by Assemblyman John McKeon, Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, Assemblyman Peter Barnes and Assemblyman Charles Mainor. In the Senate, the bill was sponsored by Senators Van Drew, Addiego and Oroho. We commend and thank all the sponsors and the Governor for this initiative.
The new law is effective immediately. Questions can be directed to Mike Cerra at email@example.com or at (609) 695-3481 x120.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
