Re: Governor signs signs law on posting of certain budgets on DCA website
Yesterday the Governor signed nine bills into law. Among the bills signed was A-2844, which requires DCA to post on its website the current adopted budget of any county or municipality that does not maintain its own website, as well as posting the three immediately preceding adopted budgets. P.L. 2011, c. 7 amended the 2007 law which requires a municipality’s adopted budget to be posted on their official website, if one exists. The new law now requires DCA to post on its website the budget of any municipality that does not maintain its own website. The law also requires that that in addition to the current year adopted budget, the municipality must also post the immediately preceding three budget years. The adopted budget must remain posted online for the duration of the local budget year.
Also signed was S-1466, which authorizes display of flashing amber warning lights on sanitation vehicles. P.L. 2011, c. 3 permits sanitation vehicles operated by either public or collection company to display flashing amber warning lights while stopped upon a street and while engaged in the collection of garbage, solid wastes, and refuse, or while moving between stops at a speed not greater than 10 miles per hour.
