Re:    1.5% Health Care Contributions Law Held to Be Constitutional

Dear Mayor:

Judge Feinberg released her decision in the various cases filed by police and fire unions challenging the required 1.5% healthcare contribution that was a centerpiece of Governor Christie’s recent pension and benefit reforms.

Judge Feinberg found the required contributions to be constitutional, and they will go forward as written.

We anticipate an appeal by the unions, but for now, the law stands as written when signed by the governor.  You can read the decisions here:
