Important Hurricane Sandy Deadlines:
The Disaster Unemployment Assistance deadline is Feb. 4. Workers can register for DUA by calling one of the following New Jersey Re-employment Call Centers: Union City, 201-601-4100; Freehold, 732-761-2020; Cumberland: 856-507-2340. Survivors can also register for DUA at njuifile.net.
The deadline to submit Public Assistance requests in Atlantic, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Union Counties is Jan. 28; in Bergen and Somerset counties it is Jan. 30; in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Morris, Passaic, Salem, Sussex and Warren counties it is Feb. 3. Fax completed forms to: 732-345-3194 or 609-882-1694. Forms are available at http://www.state.nj.us/njoem/plan/public-assist.html.
Homeowners, renters and business owners have until Jan. 30 to return their applications for low-interest disaster loans from the Small Business Administration. Jan. 30 is also the deadline for registration with FEMA by telephone or 711/VRS at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 800-462-7585, online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by smartphone or tablet at m.fema.gov.
