March 13 - Budget Cut Update and Briefing Advisory

than 10,000 Residents)
If your municipality has more than 10,000 residents, please plan to attend, or send a representative to, our scheduled briefing on Governor Corzine’s proposed property tax relief cuts and their effects on municipalities with more than 10,000 residents. For additional information, including a briefing packet, please see our Dear Mayor letter of March 6.
The meeting will take place on Thursday March 13, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. It will be held in the George Washington Ballroom of Trenton’s War Memorial Building in Trenton, NJ. Enter the War Memorial Building from the Lafayette Street side, near the Marriott. Attendees arriving in Trenton via Route 29 (The John Fitch Way) should use the Exit for Memorial Drive. Go through one light, and follow signs for the State Capitol. Proceed around the employee lot, go straight through the light, and stop at the state police booth in the State House Parking Lot. Mayors who can attend should please e-mail confirmation to Ms. Donna Baltz at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible, but no later than Noon, Wednesday, March 12.
Governor Corzine, State Treasurer, David Rousseau, DCA Commissioner Joe Doria and members of his staff will be joined by representatives from the Governor’s Office to brief the Mayors of the towns facing budget cuts and possible alternative funding sources and procedures to secure those funds. Ample time will be set aside for questions and answers.
