Dear Municipal Official:

As New Jersey continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy, it has been determined that the acquisition of flood-prone properties by the State is a potential use of the FEMA Hazardous Mitigation Grant Program.  All flood-prone properties are eligible for this grant funding, including both primary and secondary residences.

The State would like you to identify properties within your municipality that are susceptible to flooding and damage that may be eligible for this grant.  Please provide a list of the properties/homes that you believe to be good candidates for acquisition by the State for consideration as part of the Hurricane Sandy Recovery and Mitigation effort.

Please send your Letter of Intent (LOI) to:

Sergeant Michael Gallagher
State Hazard Mitigation Officer

This information must be submitted no later than March 31, 2013.

Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
