Matt Stanton, Partner, MBI GluckShaw – MODERATOR
 Matt is a Partner with MBI GluckShaw, one of New Jersey's largest lobbying/public affairs firms.  For the past five years, Matt has managed the public relations practice for the firm.  A graduate of Fordham University and Fordham University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Matt has spent is career in the public affairs arena.  Matt started his career in City Hall in New York working for City Council Speaker Peter Vallone, spent four years with the MTA New York City Transit, three years working with a national public relations firm and, prior to joining MBI GluckShaw, served as Chief of Staff at NJ TRANSIT where he managed all external communications for the nation's third largest public transit agency.  Throughout his career, dealing with the media has been a primary focus

Desiree Peterkin Bell, Strategic Communications for Newark, Panelist
In July 2006, Desiree Peterkin Bell was appointed by Mayor Cory A. Booker to lead strategic communications for the City of Newark.   In 2008, Desiree was honored in PR Week’s 40 under 40, as one of the industry’s best and brightest in Public Relations.  Desiree started her career in Washington, D.C. working on public policy issues. Later she earned a Master’s in Public Administration through the National Urban Fellows Program/NURF.  As a Fellow, Desiree worked with Mayor Bart Peterson, the Mayor of Indianapolis, on economic development, education, strategic governance and affordable housing issues.  After 9/11, Desiree returned home to New York City where she served as Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Supervising Legislative Representative.  Desiree was then tapped by the Bloomberg Administration to be the Senior Director of Government Affairs for the City’s Marketing Development Corporation.  

Louise Currey Wilson, Mayor, Montgomery Township & League 2nd Vice President, Panelist

Louise Wilson is a Committeewoman and Mayor of Montgomery Township. Prior to taking office, Ms. Wilson was a researcher and consultant in communications and public policy, her primary interests being land use policy, natural resources and agriculture, and higher education.  Wilson has served as director of communications and public affairs at Rutgers Cook College and the NJ Agricultural Experiment Station, and held various positions at the NJ Department of Higher Education, including public information officer and confidential assistant to the chancellor. Wilson is 2nd vice president of the NJ State League of Municipalities and president of the League’s Educational Foundation.  She serves on the NJ State Planning Commission and on the Board of Trustees of Somerset County United Way and the Municipal Land Use Center at The College of New Jersey.
