Officials from all sectors of government and throughout New Jersey will meet in Atlantic City in the next few weeks for the 90th Annual League Conference. Our New Jersey conference gives officials unprecedented opportunities to exchange information, ideas and network through education/policy sessions, exhibitors and special events. Here are some conference highlights.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Resolutions Committee will review all resolutions proposed. The approved resolutions will be submitted to the business meeting on Friday morning for final adoption. These resolutions direct League policy for the coming year.

The Mayors' Hall of Fame induction provides special recognition to mayors with many years of dedicated service to their communities. The silver level induction will honor those mayors with ten cumulative years of service. The gold level induction will honor those for serving twenty cumulative years. The induction will be held on Wednesday, during the Mayors' Box Lunch. Please refer to the list of inductees inside this issue.

As a fellow Mayor, I would like to congratulate this year's inductees and wish them well in the future. As president of the League, I urge all of my elected colleagues to join me at the conference for a week of invaluable learning. Plan to register your professional appointed staff as well. This year our League is celebrating 90 years of service to municipal government! I look forward to meeting and working with you in Atlantic City.

Early in October, the Mayors 7th Annual Legislative Priorities Survey was mailed to each of you. Additional copies of this survey are available at the League Information Center.

MAYORS INFORMATION CENTER
Located at the end of the 1800 aisle of the Exhibit Hall you'll find fax and photocopying machines sponsored by Stewart Industries (see them in booths 1700,1702,1704) in a lounge setting available to you for brief meetings or relaxing. League Legislative Staff are available for assistance.

LEAGUE CALCULATOR
You will receive a special limited edition calculator emblazoned with the League logo when you return the Mayoral Survey to the Mayors Information Center.

LEAGUE ANNUAL CONFERENCE SURVEY

This year the League has developed a new survey dedicated to the annual conference. The short survey was designed to get your feedback on ways to improve service, programming, information and events associated with the conference. Your response to the survey helps the League plan for the future and meet your needs. Please take a few moments to respond to the survey found enclosed in this issue. Your professional appointed staff is also encouraged to fill out the survey with their important feedback. Completed surveys may be mailed or faxed to the League, or dropped off at our Information Booth in Atlantic City.

To assist you in accessing and retaining information from the Annual Conference, the League has partnered with various digital service providers. Conference Copy offers audio recordings of the League sessions on cassette or CD-ROM for MP3 players. Order forms can be accessed on the League's conference web page or through the printed conference program you receive at the conference. The National Civic League is now accepting applications for the 2006 Award to recognize communities that overcome challenges through innovative leadership and collaborative problem solving. Applications are due March 9, 2006 and are available at the NCL web site.
