FROM THE PRESIDENT
By David DelVecchio, Mayor, Lambertville

SUPPORT THE TROOPS AND FAMILIES
The League has joined with the National Guard State Family Readiness Council, Lawrence American Legion Post 414, Lawrence Lions, and Lambertville VFW Post 7921 to raise funds for the families of men and women in New Jersey’s Army and Air National Guard currently serving in the Middle East. The League has been asked to co-sponsor the “Mayors Pancake Breakfast for Our Citizen Soldiers,” to be held on Sunday, April 15, at the National Guard Armory in Lawrence Township from 7:00a.m. to 1:00 pm.

All of the funds raised from the event will go to the Family Readiness Council, a 501-(c)(3), nonprofit association, which was created over three years ago for the exclusive purpose of providing financial and personal support to all New Jersey National Guard members and their families.

The League’s involvement in this event will require your support through volunteering or recruiting volunteers to assist with the following: service on a special committee; promoting the event to constituents and your hometown media; asking members of the corporate community to donate to this event; assist on the morning of the event by serving, cooking and/or busing tables.

As League President, I ask my fellow Mayors for a strong show of support and commitment to this worthwhile event.

Please contact Bill Dressel, Executive Director, at extension 122, if you plan on getting involved. I look forward to working with you at the Pancake Breakfast.
