Important Conference Sessions CLEAN AND GREEN
As you prepare for the League’s Annual Conference, we like to let you know about a few of the sessions we’ve planned. This, then, will be the second letter high lighting sessions related to a particular theme. You should expect to receive more of these letters in each week leading up to our gathering in Atlantic City.
As a Mayor, dealing with today’s problems and opportunities, the decisions you make will also have a profound effect on your community’s future. A large part of that future will be influenced by your municipality’s energy usage and environmental friendliness.
On Tuesday, November 18, you can kick off your Conference with our “Enforcing Litter and Solid Waste Laws” workshop at 2:00 p.m. in Room 401 of the Convention Center. Then, at 3:45 in Room 318, you will not want to arrive late for our “Green Municipal Strategies – How Utilities Can Help Tell Fact from Fiction” workshop.
On Wednesday morning, November 19, at 10:45, in Room 419 of the Atlantic City Convention Center, we have scheduled a session called “The Green Future Roadmap – How to Go Green in New Jersey,” which will be of great value helpful on the environmental front.
And, on Thursday, November 20, back-to-back sessions – “Global Warming, Local Action – Reducing Your Carbon Footprint” in Room 401 at 9:00 and “Greening the Built Environment” in Room 417 at 10:45 – are expressly designed for all willing to make the commitment to a cleaner, healthier future. At 2:00 p.m., back in Room 401, we know that you will find our “Going Green – Getting Started, Developing a Plan and Engaging the Community” session extremely informative.
We’re proud of these sessions, just as we are proud of the efforts and integrity of local officials all around our Garden State. And we look forward to serving you at the 93rd Annual Conference in November. For more information on these, and other, sessions, visit the League’s website at www.njslom.com.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
