Re:      Pension and Health Benefits Reform
            Assembly Committee Hearing on Monday

Dear Mayor,

On Monday, June 20th the Assembly Budget Committee will be holding a hearing on A-4133, the assembly companion to S-2937, which makes various changes to pension and health care benefits for public employees.   Assemblymen Louis Greenwald and Declan O’Scanlon are sponsoring A-4133.  (For more information please see our June 14th and June 16th Dear Mayor Letters as well as testimony before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee from Orange Mayor Eldridge Hawkins and Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz.)

It is extremely important that the Senate and the Assembly pass pension and health benefit reform legislation by June 30th in order to realize savings in this year’s budget.   Our voices need to be heard.  Please contact the members of the Assembly Budget Committee and urge them to support this long needed reform.

Members of the Assembly Budget Committee

Assemblyman Louis D. Greenwald (D6) — Chair

Assemblyman Gary S. Schaer (D36) — Vice Chair
