Additional Reimbursement of Sandy FEMA Public Assistance for 9 Counties - Applications due by Tuesday, October 18, 2016
Late on Friday, Governor Christie announced financial assistance for eligible disaster recovery costs to Sandy-impacted municipalities, counties, and school districts in the 9 most impacted counties (Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Union). 

2016 League Conference Resolutions
One of the most important functions of the Annual League Conference is the adoption of resolutions from our member municipalities.  These resolutions play a major part in setting the League’s legislative priorities for the upcoming year.  We encourage you to consider the resolutions process as an opportunity to help craft good legislation to improve the institution of municipal government.

Today, the Appellate Division ruled that municipal affordable housing obligations do not include a separate and distinct “gap period” calculation.

Local Governments Urge State Leaders to Restore Transportation Funding
The New Jersey State League of Municipalities (NJSLOM) and the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) are urging State leaders to reach a fair and equitable compromise on reauthorizing the insolvent Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) in the wake of Governor Chris Christie’s decision to declare a state of emergency and shut down all work funded by the TTF, which includes vital local road and bridge projects.
