GOLF COURSE PROFESSIONAL- FULL TIME- PASSAIC COUNTY PREAKNESS VALLEY GOLF CLUB. I. General. The County of Passaic (“County”) owns and maintains the Preakness Valley Golf Club (“PVGC”) in the Township of Wayne. The PVGC is a thirty six (36) hole golf facility consisting of two eighteen (18) hole courses, respectively the “East” and “West,” a driving range, and a practice green facility. Established in 1892 as one of the first public golf courses opened in the United States, PVGC has undergone a transformation in the last ten (10) years following a multi-million dollar investment from the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders (“Board”), including the installation of new tee boxes, a state of the art irrigation system, a new greens drainage system, and new cart paths.  The East course is a par 72 playing 5,831 yards from the blue tees and 5,553 yards from the white tees. The West course is a par 69 playing 6,239 from the blue tees and 5,763 from the white tees. In 2015, over 48,000 golf rounds were accommodated annually and there were approximately 4,000 registered members. Walking is permitted at all times and pull and motorized carts are available for a fee. The County recently purchased a new fleet of golf carts. The County is seeking a Professional Golfers’ Association (“PGA”) of America member in good standing to serve as the Golf Course Professional (“Professional”) and report to the Director of the County’s Department of Parks and Recreation and perform the following functions: Oversee the reservation system, starting, monitoring, and pace of play. Track and verify all players and guests, green fees, golf carts, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and ensure accurate accounting and recordkeeping. Oversee golf cart fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and recordkeeping. Develop and manage an innovative tournament program, group outings, and league service for all customer segments. Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services. Ensure all financial goals and objectives are being achieved. Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations, revenues, and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Ensure system controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources. Coordinate plans with food and beverage concession at the golf course for all functions, including, but not limited to, golf outing and tournaments. Collecting and distributing revenues generated from registrations, greens fees, driving range fees, golf cart fees, pull cart fees, and any other fees that the Operator is not entitled to as specified herein on a weekly basis.  Education: The Professional must be a member in good standing of the PGA of America. College degree is preferred, but not required. Extra consideration given to candidates with a degree in golf course management or related fields.
